My Letter To My Furture Self

May 19 2020
Dear Future Lucy,

We are in lockdown because of a world wide covid-19 virus, the government has decided to close the whole country so we don’t get sick. At the end of lockdown NZ was doing really well about staying home if you were sick. We went into lockdown on the 20th of March.

In my bubble is: My mum Sarah, my dad John, and my brother Henry. My Mum is 40, my dad is 44, and my brother is 6.
I am 9 years old.

In lockdown I liked being able to see my cat all day every day because I love my cat so much and I also liked being able to wear whatever I want.

In lockdown I missed going to school, playing with my friends, having playdates, and sleepovers. I miss learning at school, homeschooling is fun but would rather go to real school. I also missed going out on holiday and going to shops. But when we could have takeaways we got McDonalds and Fish’nChips.

Sincerely, Lucy

  1. hi Lucy, I loved the way you talked about what you missed most. I missed nearly all the same things as you. maybe next time you could talk about what you did in lock down but apart from that I thought that your letter was great- MIMI
