My Magnificent Māori

Kia ora, welcome back to my blog.

This week I made another Māori coverstaion, our goal was to make a slidshow about annother Māori converstaion, we made another one because we had so much fun making the first one. We had new kupu o te wiki - (Words of the week) and we had to ask different questions. We had to ask what your mothers nane is and what your dads name is.

Have you tried out these questions?

  1. I love your slideshow, Lucy! Those stick figures are great :) What a great conversation you have written. I remember those phrases from the other night when you (and Henry!) were teaching Dad and I how to ask those questions. I haven't tried them out on anyone yet, but I did have a lot of fun practicing with you!
Have you tried out the questions on someone??

  2. Gosh Lucy - you really have extended your learning this week I can see the extension on your conversations. Ko Jo Earl tōku ingoa. Nō Papakura au. Kia pai tō mahi - your work is very good.
Here is a new sentence for you.
Kei te aha koe? (What are you doing?) You can answer it by saying I am ...writing, reading, running etc Here is how you would say I am reading a book.
Kei te pānui i te pukapuka.
